Planning a marquee wedding?
If you’re thinking about planning a marquee wedding, our mini-blog series will be right up your street!
Our expert marquee wedding planning team have already shared some advice on when to host your marquee wedding and where to host your marquee wedding, and today, we’re chatting about integrating your marquee wedding ceremony into your big day.
Licensed marquee wedding venues
Now, it’s worth mentioning that although some marquee wedding venues are licensed (so you can legally marry there), lots of marquee wedding venues will not be licensed to host your wedding ceremony.
Holding your wedding ceremony
This means that there’s every possibility that your legal wedding ceremony will need to be held at a separate location. Whether you choose a local church, a registry office or a licensed space in a wedding venue, you’ll likely need to make arrangements to conduct the legal paperwork separately, often a day or two before your marquee wedding reception.
If you do wish to hold the legal ceremony in a separate location on the same day as your marquee wedding reception, you’ll need to consider transportation. Will you arrange to ferry your guests between the ceremony and reception locations, or will you ask your guests to make their own way between the two? Lots of couples hire in Routemaster buses or luxury coaches, which means your guests won’t have to think about a thing!
Consider hiring a wedding celebrant
Now, just because you choose to host your legal ceremony separately, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a wedding ceremony at your marquee wedding reception! Lots of couples now opt for a humanist or celebrant-led wedding ceremony, and at One Curious Dream, our wedding planners are enormous fans of this style of ceremony!
Choosing a humanist or celebrant means you can have an incredibly personal, unique ceremony in any location, so consider setting up a beautiful space in the field or on the land where your marquee wedding reception is being hosted. The joy of choosing a humanist or celebrant-led ceremony is that there are no rules, from group singalongs, shots to toast the happy couple or doggy ring-bearers, anything goes so be creative!
Consider the weather when planning your marquee wedding
Of course, you’ll also need to factor in a weather plan in case of rain or sweltering weather – comfort is key so jeeping your guests dry, cool and happy is paramount.
Tomorrow, our wedding planners will be sharing some top tips on choosing the right type of marquee for your marquee wedding so pop back here in the morning.
