At One Curious Dream, we are really excited to be exhibiting at several gorgeous wedding fairs throughout the region this year and look forward to meeting lots of lovely couples! Wedding fairs are a brilliant place to gather ideas and meet with local suppliers who can help inject the pizazz into your big day. Here are our top tips for making the most of your visit.
Suppliers are a font of knowledge
Sounds obvious but make sure you have a good chat with suppliers on the day and rack their brains for ideas! Most fairs will contain a stand from different parts of the industry, from venues, photographers, cake makers through to planners and prop hire specialists. Don’t be afraid to ask questions – most of us wedding types love sharing our knowledge and giving tailored advice that will help you have an incredible day.
Lots of suppliers tend to offer special discounts and offers to couples who are willing to put a deposit down on goods or services on the day. By being prepared from a budget point of view, you can make some fantastic savings or get extra bang for your buck in cases where extra perks are offered. Ensure you can make decisions quickly if there is something you have been specifically looking for, but of course, NEVER be pressured into making a quick decision where you are not 100% sure about what you are potentially buying.
Stay open minded
The joy of a good wedding show is that it will contain stands offering something you haven’t even thought of yet – signing waiters, close-up magicians, boot camp personal trainers, even teeth whitening! Keep your mind open and again, don’t be afraid to chat to these suppliers.
Take in a show
Many of the larger fairs run their own catwalk shows where you can drool over beautiful dresses and wedding attire for your whole bridal party. Make a note of any suppliers whose work you particularly love and be sure to visit their website following the show to view their range in more detail.
No wedding show is complete without some bubbles! Many fairs will have their own bar and we would always suggest it’s worthwhile taking a load off, kicking back and taking stock of your progress, accompanied by a fizz or two of course! Taking a strategic break is a great way to evaluate what you have seen and liked and formulate a plan for the next set of suppliers.
One of the best parts of any wedding show is taking home your goody bag! Not only will this usually be filled with lovely treats, more importantly, most vendors will have their details included for you to review and follow up on when you get home. Post show Now ladies, your work isn’t over just because the show is! Suppliers tend to have a flurry of new enquiries post show so if there is something you are interested in booking – get in touch quick to reserve your date.
