There’s absolutely no doubt that we’re all navigating our way through the current climate with a little trepidation! As Wedding Planners, we’ve spent the last few weeks helping our wedding planning clients postpone their wedding to 2021 and beyond so we do understand that confidence is at an all-time low, whilst levels of worry seem to be increasing by the bucketload!
We recently ran a series of polls on our Instagram profile (side-note, a fab space full of wedding ideas and wedding inspiration which will help if you’re currently wedding planning!) and one of the questions we asked was whether engaged couples were continuing to plan their wedding. Whilst the poll showed a fairly even split between couples who were continuing to plan their wedding and those who had put wedding planning on hold, we wanted to tell you why now is the PERFECT time to plan your wedding!
Be at the front of the pack
It won’t come as any surprise that venue and supplier availability will be seriously squeezed if you are planning a 2021 wedding or a 2022 wedding. At One Curious Dream, our team of wedding planners alone have moved almost 4 months worth of weddings across the next couple of years, meaning venues are getting booked and suppliers are heavily in demand.
Put simply, if you have already got your eye on your dream wedding venue or an amazing wedding supplier. NOW is the time to get them booked whilst they still have availability to help with your wedding.
Make hay while the sun shines
With most of the UK living under lockdown restrictions, many people have more time on their hands. If you’re at home on furlough then why not make the most of your time by getting your wedding plans progressed? Planning your wedding is a great way to pass the time, but also allows you to tackle jobs that would usually be squeezed into weekends and evenings around your working patterns.
Secondly. it’s likely that the wedding venue and wedding suppliers you have identified are also likely to have more time on their hands so will be more freely available to chat with you. At One Curious Dream, our wedding planners generally spend their time taking care of weddings at the weekends from April onwards, but as we’ve now postponed all of our immediate weddings, we’re able to offer online wedding consultations to couples who are thinking of hiring a wedding planner. (if you’d like to book one of our wedding consultations, get in touch – they are, of course, free of charge!)
The show must go on!
I know it’s a tough time right now, but life must go on and of course, at some point when the coronavirus madness calms down, you will want to get married! Giving yourself something positive to focus on like wedding planning, but also making wedding preparations whilst you have time, is not only sensible, it’s essential! So just because you can’t get married right now, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t plan your wedding for the future!
