As a wedding stylist, it’s safe to say that as well as designing and styling your beautiful weddings; there’s nothing I love more than curating a styled shoot. I always think that a styled shoot is a perfect opportunity to push boundaries and create something unusual rather than replicate the work we undertake for our clients at weddings. It’s a chance to be creative, imaginative and playful and collaborate with likeminded people who want to step out of their comfort zone!
Don’t get me wrong; my wedding styling and design approach are undoubtedly creative. Still, I know that ultimately, wedding stylists always need to work within budget and the constraints of your wedding venue to ensure we design a decor scheme that is not only beautiful but practical too!
Anyway, I’m thrilled to have had my latest shoot published on the superb English Wedding Blog – take a look at the full feature here, and I am delighted also to share the fantastic description from the editor, Claire:
“I LOVE this. I love it to bits in a playful, gloriously decadent and creative way. It’s wedding styling taken way beyond ordinary; it’s brilliantly fun; it’s all snowy and beautiful and full of joy – and I can imagine the insanely talented bunch of wedding creatives who put this together had the most amazing day ever.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re working through your wedding decor plans, this blog is a wonderful source of wedding ideas and inspiration, so do stay awhile and take a look around!
So, back to the shoot! Drawing on a childhood love for the chronicles of Narnia, I wanted to reimagine how that world might look today and set about gathering a dream team of Norfolk wedding suppliers to work alongside. Of course, asking creatives to buy into your vision is always scary, especially when you aim to achieve something completely new and exciting, but, I’m thrilled to have been joined by the very best in the business!
Chosen for their vision and ability to bring a quirky brief to life, the incredible supplier team certainly worked their magic! Set amongst the beautiful surroundings of Hales Hall, on a wet and windy day in-between lockdowns, we assembled to bring the vision to life.
Working closely with Kat at Ivy Floral Events, we designed a luxury tablescape full of the most beautiful blooms. I was thrilled with the overall effect, which combined candlelight, stunning pearl detailing, and unusual styling for each place setting.
The incredible Adie Hair and Makeup created ethereal looks for our beautiful models, something otherworldly, striking and bold. Of course, we know that you won’t choose these looks for your wedding, but I think this was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate what can happen when you think outside of the box!
We had some beautiful wedding jewellery and accessories from some fantastic suppliers. We also had stunning signage, stationery and cake (what’s not to love about cake?!) from some of my absolute favourite suppliers!
Here’s the full list of incredible creatives who worked with me on this styled shoot. You can check out their profiles on Instagram and don’t forget to find out how they can help you create your dream wedding!
