Good morning – a wedding planning service update for you today!
As I write this, the sun is shining, and spring certainly feels like it’s in the air. I don’t know about you, but the thought of sunshine and summer being just around the corner is so welcoming after what feels like the longest winter, or year, in fact!
I wanted to share a quick update on my wedding planning availability, as a lot has changed over the last week!
Regular readers of the One Curious Dream blog will know that despite 2020 being a complete write off for couples, wedding planners and wedding businesses (both wedding venues and suppliers), I started 2021 full of optimism and fully-booked for the year ahead.
Well, it seems 2021 isn’t quite going to go to plan and won’t be panning out as I’d initially hoped. Following the latest government announcement, I’ve been working with my spring, summer and even some autumn clients to implement their postponement plans. I could tell you how heartbreaking it is to face another season where I’ll get limited site-based time (because I REALLY bloody love seeing the plans come together!), but in fact, I want to focus on the positives!
I receive so many short timescale requests for both my wedding planning and wedding styling services, and in a typical year, I wouldn’t have a chance of working with these couples. 2021, for obvious reasons, is very different!
I’m always open and honest and completely transparent with my clients, so it’s important to say that I won’t work with couples this year who are still hoping to host a wedding with 100+ guests, certainly not before winter anyway. Not only will the journey to your wedding be potentially stressful with so much uncertainty in the air, but I have limited spaces across the next two seasons to postpone many more couples if things did go wrong. So if this is what you’re hoping to plan this year, then I won’t be the right wedding planner for you.
BUT, if you’re hoping to get something a little more intimate across the line, where the guest numbers are smaller, but your ideas are still big, I’m your gal! I always tell couples that great things come in small packages, and a micro wedding (less than 15 guests) or intimate wedding (less than 50 guests – at One Curious Dream I offer a tailored version of my wedding planning service) is no exception. One Curious Dream couples who are taking this approach are elevating their plans in a big way. Instead of 3-course meals, they are opting for luxe 8-10 course tasting menus instead. The decor is still beautiful yet heartfelt, and many of the traditions associated with a larger wedding are now being replaced with more thoughtful, meaningful moments.
Fees for my micro wedding planning service are typically lower than my full wedding planner service, but of course, you’ll receive the same care, attention and love, that all my clients benefit from. So, if you fancy seizing a very unusual opportunity to work with a wedding planner to make your micro wedding come to life this year, reach out and find out what I can do for you.
