Good morning! As most of you, our lovely wedding blog followers know, our team of professional wedding planners predominantly plan weddings for couples who are looking to get married in London, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and Essex.
Whilst we do often travel further afield and plan weddings right across England (our wedding planners are currently planning weddings in the Cotswolds, Surrey, Kent, Northampton and Devon at the moment), London and the East of England is generally where you’ll find us producing magical weddings!
What you might not realise is that there’s a lot of diversity between these beautiful regions and as each county is entirely unique, each region has an entirely different wedding offering. For example, you’ll find some incredible luxury hotels and wedding venues in London, but as you get further away from this bustling city, the more you’ll stumble across beautiful rustic barns and dry-hire spaces for you to inject your own personality!
In our new wedding blog series, we’ll be exploring the benefits of planning a wedding across London, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and Essex and today we’re going to focus on the weddings we plan in Norfolk – think big, bold skies and beautiful outdoor spaces, perfect for those laid-back, wonderfully relaxed celebrations.
At Weddings by One Curious Dream, it’s no surprise that the majority of the weddings we plan and couples we work with are hoping to create this style of wedding. For the most part, our wedding planning clients are looking to host a wedding celebration that is wonderfully fun where their wedding guests can truly relax, party and enjoy the celebrations together in a beautiful setting.
Lots of our Norfolk weddings take place across a full weekend, with a wedding rehearsal event (usually a BBQ or relaxed sharing-style meal), the primary wedding day followed by a post-wedding event (something like a boozy recovery brunch works wonders!) – you can find more about our weekend wedding planning service here.
So, what does Norfolk have to offer when it comes to planning a wedding in this beautiful region and why should you consider planning a wedding in Norfolk?
Well, for a start, there are some stunning Norfolk wedding venues which are perfect for planning a dry-hire, full weekend or marquee wedding or tipi wedding. These Norfolk wedding venues offer the space and flexibility to plan your wedding to your precise requirements in the most beautiful of settings – wide open spaces, beautiful, big skies and wow-factor sunsets all feature prominently.
A couple of our favourite Norfolk wedding venues include Chaucer Barn and Barn Drift Norfolk – both stunning, dry-hire wedding venues nestled in the prettiest parts of Norfolk. The views in Norfolk are unrivalled and will ensure your wedding guests feel that they have escaped to the country or the coast for the weekend – did you know that Norfolk has some of the best beaches in the UK?
Our Norfolk Wedding Planners also have access to the most amazing little black book of Norfolk wedding suppliers. From incredible wedding photographers, florists and caterers through to marquee and tipi hire companies; you can guarantee that getting married in Norfolk will give you access to a dream team of wedding suppliers to help bring your Norfolk wedding vision to life.
It’s worth mentioning that Norfolk has excellent transport links to London, so couples who are planning a destination wedding should put Norfolk on the list of areas to consider. There’s also an airport in Norwich which offers flights to the US, so again, a perfect, easy solution American-based couples who wish to get married in the UK.
We asked our founder, Jo Pyman, what she loves about planning Norfolk weddings, here’s what she had to say:
“As a Norfolk resident, I’m clearly biased about Norfolk being an incredible place to host weddings! As the top Norfolk wedding planning company in the region, our team of Norfolk wedding planners adore planning, designing and producing weddings across this remarkable county.
With a wide range of Norfolk wedding venues on offer, from beautiful rustic barns through to spaces where you can host a marquee wedding or tipi wedding under the big Norfolk skies, this place really does have it all!“
