Thanks for joining us today on the Weddings by One Curious Dream UK wedding blog! Regular readers will know that we’re currently running a mini-series on how to plan a fantastic wedding in a short timeframe (you can check out our most recent post here) and today, we’ll be sharing the next wedding planning tasks to tackle to ensure you hit that deadline!
Whilst planning a wedding quickly might seem a little scary to some couples, there are many positives! From our experience as professional UK wedding planners, we can tell you that working through your wedding plans quickly is the perfect option for couples who tend to procrastinate! Honestly, you won’t have time to dither; you’ll need to be super smart and speedy with your wedding planning, so it does take a little pain out of the process.
Planning a wedding quickly can also be an exhilarating experience! Ticking those items of your wedding planning list is a great feeling and knowing that you don’t have very long to wait until your wedding plans come together is also a lovely added touch!
Of course, planning a wedding quickly isn’t for the faint-hearted, so if you do want to get married speedily and you know that you struggle with pressure, hiring an amazing wedding planner (hi!), will definitely make the process smoother and painless.
Anyway, we’ve already talked about booking your wedding venue, arranging your gift list and wedding invitations and sourcing your dream wedding outfits. So, today, we’re going to the next step – booking your wedding suppliers.
We’ve written lots about how to book your wedding suppliers on our UK wedding blog so do take a look through the archives for lots of detailed wedding planning advice.
Booking your wedding suppliers
Now’s the time to assemble your wedding supplier dream team! If you’re marrying in a dry-hire wedding venue, your caterer should be top of the list. Getting a great wedding caterer on board is the key to happy tummies and happy guests, so getting this one right is critical!
Next, decide on your photographer and be prepared to invest a decent chunk of your budget here. After all, your wedding photographs will last a lifetime, and with wedding photographers, you really do get what you pay for!
Your evening entertainment (whether you want a band or DJ or both/none!) and florist should come next in line and without sounding like a stuck record, you get what you pay for with each of these categories!
Of course, there’s a list as long as your arm of suppliers to be booked, everything from wedding hair and makeup artists through to wedding designers and prop hire companies. What’s important is that you stick with your budget and find suppliers that resonate with your vision.
If you’ve hired a wedding planner, they’ll be sharing their top wedding suppliers with you, but otherwise, using online resources will help you narrow down your shortlist.
Once you’ve secured your dream wedding supplier team, now’s the time to get supplier meetings such as cake tastings or hair and makeup trials locked in.
Next time on the Weddings by One Curious Dream blog, we’ll be taking a look at the next steps you need to consider when planning a wedding quickly.
