Where do you plan weddings?

We plan wow-factor weddings predominantly across London, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge & Essex. We also work further afield from time to time, so do always get in touch if your wedding is taking place somewhere else in the UK.

Unfortunately, we don’t offer destination wedding planning services – our UK weddings keep us extremely busy, for which we’re incredibly grateful!

What wedding budget do we need to work with you?

Honest answer? How long is a piece of string! We’ve planned small, intimate weddings for less than 20k and large, extravagant weddings with a budget of 6 figures+. We’re open, honest and transparent in the way we work with our wedding planning clients, so we’ll always help you understand what you can realistically achieve with the budget you have.

If we also think your wedding budget will be better spent on your wedding, rather than our fees, we’ll tell you! We want you to have an amazing wedding but we will only work with couples where we can truly add value to your wedding planning experience.

We’re not based in the UK, can you help us plan a wedding?

We’re truly proud of our global client base and we work with couples all over the world including America, Australia and the Middle East. It means we know a thing or two about working across different time zones, and, as your local wedding planner here in the UK, we’ll do everything we possibly can to ensure the process is smooth, stress-free and enjoyable for you.

What type of weddings do you plan?

Our job as your dedicated wedding planner is to plan and design a wedding that is authentic, personal and unique. Whilst we specialise in dry-hire weddings (think marquee weddings, tipi weddings and weddings at home/hired spaces or country houses), no two One Curious Dream weddings are the same. We’ve planned everything from beautifully whimsical outdoor weddings, flamboyantly fun festival weddings, uber-luxurious hotel weddings, right through to elegant fairytale castle weddings.

We apply our signature laidback luxury style and approach to each wedding we plan and design, creating a wedding celebration that is professionally planned, beautifully designed and expertly delivered. The common thread between the weddings we plan and design is that our couples want to create a sincere occasion in a beautiful setting where the focus is on fun and celebration with their nearest and dearest!

How about weekend weddings or extended celebrations?

YES! Many One Curious Dream couples choose to extend their wedding celebrations across multiple days. From selecting the perfect wedding venue and a dream team of wedding suppliers, we’ll create an extended wedding celebration that takes your guests needs into account across several days.

Do we have to use your preferred wedding suppliers?

It’s no secret that we have an incredible little black book full of top wedding industry suppliers who are tried, tested and thoroughly trusted by the One Curious Dream planning team. We want your wedding to be exceptional, so we will always recommend the very best wedding suppliers (that work within your budget) for you to consider. Many of the wedding suppliers that we work with regularly offer discounts and incentives to our wedding planning clients too, and of course, savings and discounts are always passed on to our clients.

However, there is no pressure to accept our supplier recommendations, after all, it’s YOUR wedding, and YOU remain in the driving seat at all times. We regularly work with new wedding suppliers too, so if you have a wedding business in mind already, then tell us all about them, and we’ll find a way to incorporate their services into your wedding. We do ask that all suppliers provide a legally sound contract and have appropriate insurance in place – we’re belt and braces about this as it’s your wedding and we want nothing left to chance!

How many weddings do you work on each year?

We’re very fortunate to be hired by such wonderful couples each year! Planning a wedding is very time consuming (did you know, on average, it takes between 250-350 hours to plan a wedding?!) and therefore we limit the number of full wedding planning clients we work with each season.

We offer a highly personal, bespoke range of wedding planning services and will always do our best to ensure you feel like you’re our only wedding planning client. We offer wedding planning meetings at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends.

The only time where we are unable to offer a weekend meeting is where we have a wedding booked. However, we’re always able to find a suitable alternative that fits around your commitments.

How much do your wedding planning services cost?

Following an initial wedding consultation, we’ll provide a tailored quotation which is based on the timescale, complexity and duration of your wedding.

We’re always very transparent in our fee structure and will ensure there are no hidden surprises, so you’ll always know how much our wedding planning services will cost.

Generally, our fees are linked to your overall wedding budget spend, and specific exclusions apply, for example, we won’t link our fees to your wedding attire or honeymoon spend.

We’re also able to offer a fixed fee for larger wedding budgets, so do let us know if this is something you would like to explore at your wedding consultation.

What are your payment terms?

For our wedding planning services, we require a 25% retainer to get your wedding plans underway. From there, we divide the balance into equal, interest-free monthly payments, with the final payment due no later than 30 days before your wedding.

Do we pay for travel and accommodation costs?

It depends! We aim to keep our expenses to a minimum, so we’ll only charge accommodation costs where necessary – e.g., if your wedding is located more than 90 minutes from our studio address OR if the setup, management or pack down arrangements for your wedding are particularly complex or lengthy.
All travel is chargeable at either 45p per mile (from/to our studio address) or when booking planes, trains or automobiles, at cost.

Do you accept commission?

As Elite members of the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners, we do not accept any form of commission or referral fee for recommending you and your wedding to venues or suppliers. We charge fairly for our wedding planning services, based on our skills and experience and your specific requirements, so we have no need to seek additional profit for the work we have already agreed to undertake for you. This means you can rest safe in the knowledge that our wedding venue and wedding supplier recommendations are always made with your very best interests at heart and that all discounts and savings are passed directly to you.

Are you insured?

Yes, absolutely. We hold public and employers liability insurance as well as professional indemnity insurance, which protects the professional advice we share with you.
