Well, guys, it’s been another strange old week, hasn’t it? With the country still living under lockdown restrictions, I think that we may all just be starting to settle into this new way of life. Hasn’t the weather been amazing?! It’s been great to feel the sun on my skin (don’t forget to wear sunscreen, peeps!) though the irony that we finally get a sunny bank holiday weekend when we can’t leave our homes isn’t lost on me!
We’ve had another busy week at One Curious Dream, helping more of our couples postpone their weddings to next year and beyond. We always say this, but it’s so true, we’re incredibly lucky that our wedding planning clients are such wonderful people – even in the most challenging of circumstances, they’ve decided to postpone their wedding with grace and positivity and for that, I am so grateful!
If you’ve decided to postpone your wedding, there’s some practical wedding advice on our blog here which I really hope will help you. I think it’s also important to acknowledge your original date, so there are some wedding ideas here to help you do just that.
Our wedding planners have also welcomed a couple of new wedding planning clients into the fold this week, which is SO exciting and so very welcome. One of the couples who initially enquired with us last week asked if we were still accepting new wedding planning clients and the answer, of course, is a big, fat YES!
It’s worth mentioning that our 2021 diary is now looking pretty busy and whilst we do have availability to work with new wedding planning couples at the moment, we anticipate a huge rush for our remaining dates as soon as the restrictions are lifted. So please, if you do think we might be the wedding planners for you, do get in touch now!
Finally, I’d like to ask for your help with something. So many of you have had your wedding impacted by Covid-19 and whether that means you’ve had to postpone or are still waiting with lots of worry and stress, the wedding industry has taken a huge hit. Wedding businesses are struggling to shoulder the responsibility of postponements and cancellations and so many couples are discovering that the wedding insurance policy they purchased in good faith, doesn’t cover them.
As wedding planners, and as a wedding planning business, One Curious Dream is strong, stable and in it for the long haul. We’ve taken a huge financial hit but can weather the storm, whilst so many others in the industry are really struggling. The chairman of Bridebook has written an open letter and started a petition to force insurers to deliver on their obligations which will give wedding businesses a little respite during these turbulent times. You can read the letter here and if you are so inclined, please, please sign the petition.
Anyway, duty calls, so I’ll love you and leave you for another week. Stay positive, peeps, and be excellent to each other.
