Is it just me, or does time seem to be taking on warp-speed powers whilst we’re in lockdown? This week has been so busy and has once again flown by, I can’t believe it’s Sunday already!
First of all, I’d like to send huge love and hugs to one of our wedding planning couples, Shay and Ben, who were due to host the most beautiful Norfolk marquee wedding this weekend. This would have been One Curious Dream’s first wedding of the year, so it feels so odd that I’m sat here writing this wedding blog, rather than rushing around on-site and managing their clear down.
I always say in our social media profiles, that I’m so grateful that we get to plan weddings for the most incredible couples, and it’s at times like these where I feel so fortunate that this statement is 100% true.
Shay and Ben have handled the postponement of their wedding like absolute bosses – practical, pragmatic and whilst obviously disappointed, beautifully positive and excited for their postponed wedding next spring. I can’t wait!
By the way, if you’re considering a wedding postponement right now, there’s info on our blog here of the steps you should be taking. Take a look and let me know if it helps you!
In the meantime, we’ve had another week with lots of wedding planning activity to get our upcoming 2020 weddings moved to next year and beyond. There’s been lots of liaison with suppliers and I’m super excited that even though not all of our booked wedding suppliers have managed to move to revised dates, we’ve had the opportunity to hire in some awesome wedding businesses including Browns Films, James Powell Photography and Adie Hair and Makeup.
We’ve had lots of conversations with our postponing couples to reassure them that even with a few changes, their wedding will still be amazing and if you’re reading this as a couple who are currently postponing, your wedding will be amazing too!
We’ve also had some real positives this week with a couple of new wedding planning clients joining the family. It’s always so nice to meet our planning couples in person, but given the current situation, all of our meetings are taking place online – isn’t technology awesome? To be honest, this isn’t unusual as we host online meetings with lots of our overseas couples who are planning a UK destination wedding so we’re used to chatting whilst you’re in your lounge, cooking dinner, in your pj’s….
Anyway, duty calls, so I’ll love you and leave you for another week. Stay positive, peeps, and be excellent to each other.
